The approved Fire Alarm Audibility Retro-fit Upgrade
Fire-Link®II provides audibility retro-fit upgrades in a snap, allowing building owners to bridge the gap in their fire plan and ensure a safe building. There is no need to replace the existing fire alarm system, Fire-Link®II is compatible with all manufacturers’ fire alarm systems. When the fire alarm is activated, Fire-Link®II in-suite devices are simultaneously activated, alerting residents.
The following are the three primary components that comprise the current Fire-Link® system:
Network Monitoring Controller (NMC) - serves as the central hub through which various applications interface with the building; the NMC connects to any UL - 864 listed Fire Alarm Control Panel.
In-Suite Signaling Devices (ISD) - communicate with each other and with the NMC via signals transmitted throughout a building’s existing electrical infrastructure.
Transformer Phase Couplers (TPC) - allow the Signalink system’s data to be carried by all phases of the AC power line within the building. The choke removes frequency noise that may interfere with the system that is passed from the Electrical Transformer.
By connecting the NMC into the electrical panel in the utility room of a building, and plugging ISD’s into standard electrical outlets throughout the building, an instant network is formed. The resulting system provides maximum reliability, as each of the intelligent ISD end points is programmed to pass data through the system in place of another in case of failure.
Ownership Advantages
An integrated testing feature is able to test each device from the control panel reducing the need to enter each suite or installed area. Report generates to the main display or can be printed. This feature will lower maintenance, testing and inspection times. In the event of a problem or tampering of the device, the location of the unit in question will be displayed on the control panel screen, visually identifying the exact location, reducing troubleshooting time.
- Provides building owners and managers with the easiest path to upgrade their infrastructure, with minimal tenant disruption/liability, at the lowest cost possible.
- Quickest way to get compliant with fire code regulations
- Exceeds minimum standards specified by UL/ULC and NFPA.
- Affords “forward compatibility” for the implementation of future applications little incremental infra-structure investment.
